Corona is dismissed by many scientists as not being made in a laboratory. Is that the end of the story though?

Science alert reported:

Back in late March, we covered a study published in Nature Medicine, in which the researchers investigated the genomic data of SARS-CoV-2 – particularly the receptor-binding domain (RBD) sections of the virus – to try and discover how it mutated into the virulent and deadly version we’re currently struggling to contain.

As a by-product of their research, they were able to determine that SARS-CoV-2 was not genetically manipulated.

However, the research does not dismiss that conditions could have been made so that a strain of Coronavirus mutated into COVID-19. A catalyst could have been added to the virus to speed up natural processes. Maybe, this possibility will never be able to be dismissed. As a writer I see it as my duty to leave no stone unturned. So the research will continue and I will post any further findings.
